At The Watchmaker workshop in Thessaloniki, we had the opportunity to perform a complete general service on one of these rare pieces — a process that requires experience, precision, and a deep understanding of the calibre's architecture.

Master Compressor: Engineering before aesthetics

The Master Compressor series features the distinctive locking crowns technology, a system that ensures water resistance without the need for a traditional screw-down mechanism.

In the Navy SEAL edition, ergonomics are combined with:

Calibre Jaeger-LeCoultre 956 — High-end watchmaking alarm mechanism

The interior of the watch houses the in-house calibre 956, a mechanism that incorporates an alarm complication without sacrificing reliability.

During disassembly, the following are observed:

• Separate barrel for the alarm

• Hammer mechanism that activates the characteristic sound vibration

• Composite drive transmission for alarm indicator adjustment

Proper alarm operation requires absolute precision in alignment and lubrication—even the slightest deviation can affect the volume and duration of the sound.

The service process in the workshop

This particular piece showed signs of daily use, especially on the case and locking crowns.

The process included:

✔ Checking the tightness of compressor seals
✔ Alarm hammer adjustment and mechanism synchronization
✔ Relubrication according to Jaeger-LeCoultre specifications

✔ Final assembly and pressure testing
