Tutima Glashütte watches
Tutima, founded in 1927 in Glashutte, Germany by Dr. Ernst Kurtz, is known for manufacturing high quality and durable wristwatches.
The origins of watchmaking in Glashütte are rooted in 1843 when Ferdinand Adolph Lange, convinced the Saxon rulers to invest in the town to create a watchmaking hub to replace the dying silver mining industry. Soon Glashütte was transformed into a thriving watchmaking center that attracted watchmakers such as Moritz Grossmann, Julius Aßmann, Adolf Schneider, and many others who worked independently making almost all of their own watch parts. First Dr. Ernst Kurtz in the late 1920s, gathered the watchmakers scattered throughout the Müglitztal under the roof of a factory developing modern work structures and thus Tutima Glashütte was born.
