Military Marathon Watches
Marathon Watch Company was founded in 1939 by Morris Wein and has been a family business for three generations. The Wein family moved to Canada in the 1920s, and the Morris brothers would go into watch manufacturing. The company began with the goal of making durable watches, primarily for military purposes.
Their first military contract was signed in 1941 for the British forces, including the Canadian forces. Marathon watches were initially only available through a military version, but it was soon decided to offer them to the general public. Many people don't know that Marathon is the only official watch supplier to the United States, and they also continue to produce watches for many governments worldwide.
